Steps to reproduce:
1) With a valid application or test harness incorporating libraw, attempt to decode an .s rw into a JPEG and save the result to disk.
Notice that a 'stray' file containing the name of the saved image and the process id is left behind in the directory where the conversion took place.

Sorry, no 0.14.4 on hand (this is more-than-one-year version).
I've made a quick check: downloaded LibRaw 0.14.7 Win32 binary from http://www.libraw.org/download#stable
and use dcraw_emu.exe for decoding Samsung NX-100 SRW file.
No additional files appear, only expected .tiff or .ppm one.
